James & Veron Baptism

Hip hip hoooray.. check out some of the photos of James , Veron, Hermen baptism on Friday nit at Klana Putri after our group prayer night.. it was a momment of joy for everyone, even God himself is celebrating in heaven.. God is awesome! .. the very excited souls waiting to be baptised :P we had a short sharing before the baptism about how they gone thru the bible studies and finally how they made it.. Veron, Herman & James Herman being baptised by his big bro, Harris :) Veron baptised by steven and her tree, Hui Kin ...and finally James turn to be baptised by Steven :) Congrats to the new baby christians! We have a baptism yesterday It was a great time of joy to see Pei Shin decided to get baptised and follow Christ from today onward.. here’s some of the photos of the baptism.. will try to get a testimony sharing from her later we have a round of sharing before the baptism.. Yau Yau, Bee Gaik, Fyon shared bout thier study with her and seing how God had changed her life….Bee Gaik also said her wish of baptising someone before her wedding came true! God is amazing! Seremban Steamboat BibleTalk

We had our very first Seremban Steamboat gathering with Singaporean bros & sis last Saturday..We had a great time of eating loads of food, fun-game, awesome fellowship and bible discussion :) We reach Seremban around 9:30 am and we went to Seremban Market to get the food stuff for steamboat.

Ipoh Mission Team Member

Hannah Ramsamy, KL Singles.. My dream to be on the Ipoh Mission Team came about at the launch of Operation Evangelization of Malaysia at the SEA Conference in Singapore last year. I knew that being a Malaysian it was my calling to reach out to the people in Ipoh. It was during the Malaysian Churches Conference that I pledged to God that I would serve him. As the theme of the conference went, “Here I am. Send Me”, I told God to use my life for the advancement of his kingdom. On our first trip, we didn’t know the directions to Ipoh. We had no plans, no contacts…anyone would have thought that it was plain foolishness to travel without a plan. But it was amazing how God guided us to Ipoh. We met a stranger during lunch and asked for directions. Her name was Gannes. And she volunteered to be our tour guide for almost half a day! That I would call a miracle from God! God had continuously encouraged us in many ways, be it in bringing friends, reaching out to people, or just getting directions around Ipoh. Many times we were lost, but somehow we always met helpful people who were willing to guide us. On one occasion a man driving a Mercedes directed us all the way back to YMCA at midnight even though it was out of his way. I view this as God looking after his lost sheep - that’s us! During our trips, we stayed at my auntie’s house in Chemor. My aunty had often persecuted me for being a Christian and challenged me on the amount of time I spent at church. But today she knows what I do and she had the chance to get to know the Christians. She finds it a joy to host us. She is even cooked for the Bible talks. God is truly amazing, I lost hope for the salvation of my family, but now God has opened the door for my relatives to know the Christians. Being in the Ipoh mission team enabled me to build greater friendships with people from different sectors. It’s amazing how people of different characters from diverse backgrounds can be united in one purpose – the MISSION. It’s been a great experience working with Katy Lee, Alisha, and Natalie, being able to discover their talents, character and above all, their love for God and the lost. I also learned to accept each other in spite of our weaknesses and to be united in serving God. Truly, it’s amazing to see how God put the four of us together for the advancement of his kingdom! I used to think that in order to serve, I needed to be fully equipped and I felt insecure about my lack of abilities and knowledge. But I was lifted up and encouraged by the verse in John 6:65 that say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him.” It helped me to pursue my dream despite my fear of evangelizing. Being on the mission team has enabled me to see God’s goodness and his faithfulness towards his disciples. I learned that God will enable me to do his will despite all my limitations as long as I decide to trust in Him. I only need to have a heart for his mission. I learned to pray a lot and surrender to God for his will to be done in Ipoh, instead of ours. I am thankful to God to be able to serve him, I am humbled that God uses ordinary people like me for the advancement of his kingdom, and above all I am grateful to God for enabling me to serve him with the little that I have. To God be the glory! Natalie, KL Singles... “It has been a fruitful experience for me to follow a few of the sisters, namely Katy Lee, Hannah and Alisha to reach out to the people in Ipoh. Not only did we manage to create fond memories together, but also great friendships with one another. While we were there we lost our way a few times but God sent a guardian angel (so to speak) to help us find our way back. That taught me to trust God and to believe that He is always there to guide and protect us. I also realized that in the church I was just a sheep, but in Ipoh I found myself playing the role of a shepherd. That is my newly found conviction. It was amazing to see how God put all of us together with different strengths and character to accomplish his good work. Being a part of the mission team to Ipoh lifted up my faith especially in the area of evangelism. I used to struggle in evangelism as I was very timid and had difficulties in carrying on conversations with people. But God is truly awesome. He used this as an opportunity to help me overcome all these weaknesses. All these priceless experiences I will never forget and I thank God for watching over us and guiding us through out the time we have spent in Ipoh.” Katy Lee, PJ Singles “I have the privilege of going to Ipoh mission team this year. So far, I've been on four trips, with each trip bringing me a new learning experience. Funnily enough, I've never been to Ipoh before this. I have heard of Ipoh's famous delicacies but I've never set foot on this mining town until I volunteered myself to go for the mission there. It was a whole new learning experience for me. I feel refreshed because I've never been on a mission team before, and it is my first one after being a Christian for 7 years now. Going to Ipoh helps me to put my focus on God. You see, I've not been sharing my faith consistently and I feel really dry in reaching out to people. Going to Ipoh and evangelising to the people there pushes me to follow-up on them and motivates me to keep up the friendship with them. There were three others sisters who joined me on these trips, namely Alisha, Hannah and Natalie. I took the opportunity to build friendships with them as they are not in my group. It's fulfilling to work together to help win souls for Christ. I learned that God will provide our every need wherever we are. For example, when we got lost, somehow we encountered friendly people who were willing to show us the right direction. That gave us the opportunity to build friendships with them and to get to know their lives in a manner which is not legalistic. I'm grateful that I'm the chosen one for Ipoh mission team. I'm grateful that I am blessed with financial stability, allowance of time and good health to go on regular trips to Ipoh. Please keep us in our prayer!”

Mission Team

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” (Mark 1:17) These are the very words of Jesus about our calling to seek and save the lost. We must speak – and speak of Christ. People need to be told who it is who makes our lives different. We must speak even when we do not know much about the Bible. We must speak even if we sense our own inconsistency of life. We must speak even when it is inconvenient. God is bigger than our sins, our ignorance, our pride. He will honor his word in our mouths. Ipoh Truly it is exciting to see how different disciples had stepped up on their faith to take the mission to where it has never been before. This year the KL church had started mission plans to Ipoh and Seremban. It first started when one of our staff’s father was sick. She took her whole family to Taiping for a visit and to take care of him. A few visits followed and she then took the opportunity to share the gospel with her father. This brought on the idea of setting up a mission team through a bunch of volunteer disciples who are willing to travel to the town from time to time to spread the mission. In the end of September the first bible talk in Ipoh was held. Many disciples and friends came – young and mature. What was really encouraging was to see a friend who traveled 2 hours away from Taiping just to attend the bible talk. Her eagerness to know God was evident and she started studying the Bible. She had been traveling down to Ipoh to study the bible with the Christians since then. It was a faith building time for the disciples to see that there are people in the world who are truly hungry for the Word of God. Seremban The work of God did not stop in Ipoh only. Another group of disciples in the Chinese Ministry and PJ Singles volunteered themselves to be a part of the mission team to Seremban. Together they scouted out the land and laid out plans for a church service to be held in Seremban. November 27 marked the first church service in Seremban. A bunch of Singaporean disciples came up to be a part of the service and it was an exciting beginning for the Seremban mission team. Melaka & Kuching These two cities are the next destination of mission field to evangelize. Though there is no baptism yet but God has used the disciples to plant the seeds. Mark 10:27 – Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” Let us continue the good work of God in evangelizing the whole world. To God Be The Glory !

A New Life

A young gal who just started her journey as a disciple, the exuberant and lively Ester Lai shares of how God led her to Him in her life. When I was 15 years old, I faced a lot of personal problems in my life, especially in the area of my studies and relationships. I was very unhappy at the time, not to mention lonely as well. One day while I was in my hostel room, I saw my roommate writing a letter. Filled with curiosity I probed her and she told me how she often wrote letters to this friend of hers to share of her problems whenever she was unhappy. It turned out that this friend was a pastor in a missionary in Sarawak. I decided to get to know him and I started corresponding with him. I believed that it was God’s plan that I should come to know him. I found comfort in pouring out my burdens in life through the letters I wrote to him. Although we communicated with each other only through letters, I felt loved and cared for. After graduating from high school I began working in Johor Bahru. We lost contact with each other. While I was there, my cousin sister, who is a disciple in the JB Christian Fellowship, got hold of me and began inviting me to her church. I rejected her invitations again and again due to my own laziness. I was not willing to make time and effort to go to church. Two years later I moved up to Kuala Lumpur. My desire to know God began to grow then. I started buying Christian books and reading more about God. As I learned more about the Bible I wanted to do what is right in my life. But my efforts were frustrated for I could not change my ways. I longed to go to church but my work schedule would not allow it. Until one day when I received a call from Lily. She invited me to church again. Even after all this time she had never given up on me. I was so grateful and I accepted her invitation without hesitation. I believed that it was God’s plan for me. My first visit to church was to the Malaysian Churches Conference (MCC) and it changed my life. I had always wanted to feel God’s love in my heart. So I was very excited to study up the Bible with the Christians who reached out to me. As I continued in my search for God I was faced with a lot of challenges, particularly when it came to repenting of my sins and making decisions to change my life. Each time I felt tempted to give up the Christians would be there to encourage me and I saw how God changed my heart. Though it was an uphill battle for me I felt grateful to God because He has never given up on loving me. Two months later I was baptized into Christ. Amen! I feel glad and happy because it is such a blessing to be able to love God and to know that it is never too difficult to seek God as long as we continue to walk according to his ways. Whenever I feel weak he always has his plan to help me grow from my weaknesses and to understand more about His word. To me having a relationship with God is like tasting the sweetest honey. I feel so blessed. We are so precious to God. Therefore we should treasure this relationship and strive to imitate Christ’s love (Philippians 2:1-11).
